What a complete pump-out includes
A proper pump-out removes the tank contents down to the sludge rather than skimming the liquid surface. We locate or uncover the lid, inspect both inlet and outlet baffles, check the tank walls for cracks, and confirm the outlet is not sending solids toward the drain field. You get a written report before we leave.
How often Ozark-area tanks should be pumped
A standard residential tank of about 1,000 to 1,250 gallons in typical family use needs pumping roughly every 3 to 4 years. A full household, garbage disposal use, or an older 750-gallon tank shortens that interval, sometimes to about every two years. If nobody in the household can say when the tank was last pumped, that alone is reason enough to have it checked.
Older tanks, buried lids, and risers
Many older tanks were capped and left for decades, ending up buried under fill, rock, or landscaping, and must be probed for and dug out by hand before service. Installing a riser while the tank is already open can make future visits easier by bringing the lid closer to grade.
